Get InvolvedThe Social Justice Advocacy Initiative (SJAI) is an independent, non-governmental organization committed to promoting and protecting human rights in Nigeria through research, advocacy, education, and policy engagement.
Founded on a feminist-informed framework, SJAI operates at the intersection of human rights scholarship and institutional advocacy. We produce evidence-based research, engage policy actors, and build the capacity of individuals and institutions to advance justice, equality, and accountable governance.
SJAI occupies a distinctive position in Nigeria's civil society landscape — functioning simultaneously as a research institution, an advocacy organization, and an educational platform. Our work is guided by the principle that sustainable social change emerges from structured knowledge, institutional engagement, and community empowerment.
Evidence-based documentation and analysis of human rights conditions
Strategic policy engagement for systemic institutional reform
